Thank you so, SO much for your patience during my maternity break, and for all of your kind words, wishes, love, and support before and after our daughter arrived! I was fortunate enough to have a very easy labor–um, crazy easy labor–and part of me believes it was because we had so many positive wishes cast our way! Our daughter was born April 3rd, and weighed 7lbs 1 oz. We named her Guinevere, and call her Gwen for short. She is a sweet, strong baby (seriously, she has held her head up high pretty much from day one), and we feel so incredibly blessed to have her! Her debut in the comic is coming shortly, I promise Just as soon as the People return from wherever-they-could-be.
I have more thanks to bestow: So many folks requested a book that it is happening! It is really happening! There will be a ‘Breaking Cat News’ book next year!! The exact date is still being worked out, but I am currently getting these strips prepared to send to my editors at Universal Uclick. I am terribly excited about this and hope you are too! Thank you, thank you to everyone who has asked for a book to happen, everyone who reads and enjoys this comic, and everyone who has been so encouraging, positive, and kind!! I love creating this comic for all of you, and I am happy to get back to my paints and brushes!

I’m more convinced than ever that Elvis and my cat are kindred spirits, who would murder each other if they ever somehow met…whenever I go away for a couple of days, I can tell that even if I get a catsitter in, Chenille has been sitting on the couch the whole time doing the TWO. WHOLE. DAYS. thing.
Oh boy, is Elvis quite unhappy with the People – and he’s going to be even more unhappy when they finally come home, with another human ‘pupa’ in tow lol The bits with Camera 2 and the curtains had me giggling like a maniac and waking up my own unhappy feline posse I’m so glad you’re back, and I hope that you, the Man, Toddler and the newest addition to the family are all doing well, and the boys are taking good care of you all. Great to have BCN back! Have loved the sketches you have posted. Boxes full of adventure was wonderful. I have been giving small boxes to the shelter kittens for years … they start out clean, and then are easy to throw away after they have been chewed up or had worse happen to them. With a condo full of kittens “the worst” can happen a lot. Looking forward to your “great leap forward” with your talent. It will be so fun to watch.

Husband and I are so very happy to see you back, we’ve been counting the days til our favorite comic returned. Glad to hear all has been well with the family!
I’m just hoping none of the boys expressed their severe disappointment with the 2 day hiatus with the same technique of our old black Siamese Sheba. A weekend trip and accidental access to the parents bedroom (we thought it had been locked) meant returning to a very precisely placed mountain of cat poo in the exact center of their bed.
Elvis did that once!!!!! When we first moved into our current apartment. Now, we HAD just moved 3,000 miles east the month before, and had been staying with family for a few weeks… It was a lot of change, but we were still horrified nonetheless, haha!
Happy days are here again (she sang while reading it for the tenth time) Loki seemed less impressed by my excited squealing when I discovered it this morning before work!
One of my youngest Siberian kitties chose today to baptize herself in our (screened-in) swimming pool, thereby transferring what looked like half the pool’s contents through the patio door halfway across the house to underneath our bed. THAT’S how excited my household is at BCN’s return! Seriously, a hearty welcome back, plus congrats on your gorgeous little girl AND your wonderful news about the book. We’re all tickled pink that you are back [although in Katya’s case, still a trifle damp]!

Every time I go away my two explore who has the role of dominant cat. I never know what I’ll come home to find or how long it will take to change again.
This by far is the cutest one for me. By Far!! I love Puck holding up his paws counting, love how it goes to the colour stripes, love Elvis freaking and out and oh how cute Lupin is pinching his eyes. Adorable overload!!!
