Oh Tommy…. you’re just too sweet, although i hope you get reunited with your family soon though!

Georgia I know you said this didn’t happen in real life but I’m still worried about Elvis 😉

Never fear, he is curled up right around Puck on “their” armchair right now! The Man and I have been giving him a lot of extra attention since the special started, I think we’re both appreciating what we have safe at home, ha!

I hope there are some madcap adventures with Tommy and Elvis coming up so it feels like a real TV special. This is making me so concerned even though I know it’s not real!

Ahhh puffy, big eyed Elvis under the woodpile! Bless him! Also I love ‘You can sniff my nose if it will make you feel more comfortable’. And like everyone else, I know this is fiction and that real Elvis is safe and warm, but I can’t wait to see Elvis and Tommy safe at home – I am gripped by the Christmas series!

I love the countdown clock and coffee pot on the news desk! I’ve been so worried about Elvis. Glad Tommy is taking care of him. Can’t wait till Thursday!

Tommy is going to be the hero of the piece – knew he had a family somewhere waiting, hoping, wanting him HOME. But, heros do what the have to do…

You know, it’s quite the commentary on your skills as writer, artist, and character developer that your entire audience worries about your comic kitties even knowing the real kitties are safe and warm. =) Well done! I’m loving the barrier breakdown between Tommy and Elvis.

I kind of guess that Tommy is the Neighborhood Cat: we have a fluffy one on our alley named Samson and, not unlike Elvis, my younger cat wants to kill him every time she sees him (has ripped mouthfuls of fur off him in the past) but Samson just hides ’til she’s gone (never fights back, just shakes her off) and then comes back for skritches and treats.
He used to come inside for playtime with my older male cat, but I think he understands that those days are gone. But I still feel bad on cold nights when he comes by …
BTW, body language in panel 14 is pure Planes Trains and Automobiles. So cute!

you are killing me!! I know this isn’t real, but a friend’s kitty got out a while back. She found him, but this cuts so close to home – and I’m sure it does for a lot of people.. hurry up with the happy ending already will ya? (not really, good story telling takes time, but still)

Elvis will have had quite bit of “life experience” when he finally returns home. He will surely dramatize his adventures. I wonder how that will sit with Lupin and Puck?

I too can’t wait to see a happy ending for this! One of our kitties vanished for a week last October–they’re both indoor/outdoor so we expect irregularities, but this is a cat that has never missed a dinnertime in his ten years of life, is terrified of strangers, and doesn’t like other cats much either. Needless to say, this was very unusual and we were very worried. We looked everywhere for him and he finally came home on the seventh day–dirty, scratched, hungry, but home. I’m still amazed to think about it, and I’d give a lot to know what happened to him in that time. The other cat was clearly wondering what had happened as well, much like Lupin and Puck in this series! These strips really hit home given that we went through something similar so recently.

This is breaking my heart. I don’t like it that Elvis is missing – even though he’s going to find some Christmas spirit with Tommy. And, now we learn that Tommy’s a missing kitty too?!?! I don’t know how much more sorrow I can take.

A few years ago, my two kitties got into a fight and fell out an open-but-screened window (my wife and I were in bed at the time, heard the squabble, and thought nothing of it). When we got up, we found the window screen broken out and the cats nowhere to be found. One of them showed up within 12 hours of vanishing and the other two days later.

I love Lupin’s snowglobe theory of snowfall. “Somebody’s shaken up the sky again” hahaha

Gotta wonder if this story will end with Elvis and Tommy becoming true BFFs!

Where will Tommy have them bunking this snowglobe night, Elvis is wondering, as he has seen the lost kitty poster.

Funny/sad enough, last Friday, my cat Lily managed to sneak out and then kept hiding from me and my husband as we tried to coax her back to us. She ended up staying outside for two nights, where it was cold and rainy. She looked like a raggedy mess once we got her back inside, but she really appreciated the warmth, dryness, and food we had waiting for her.l This special is reminding me of that stressful period.

I must confess I have been wondering why Tommy is always outside.

Also, panel 9 where we can see Tommy getting serious for the first time ever is amazing.

I wonder if Tommy will turn out to be like the vets’ cat in a town I used to live in. He was technically a stray, but knew the break times of every business on the industrial estate and used to turn up for food at each one. He was one of the fasttest cats I’ve seen. One of the vets eventually took him home – partly, I suspect, to stop him waddling in and showing them up when they told their clients to put their cats on diets.

Tommy’s fuzzy toes!!! I have to confess, I love all kitties, but fluffy kitties have the best toe-fur and ear tufts. I just want to pull Tommy right out of the strip and cuddle him. (And he’s probably the only cat in the strip that would allow that without at least a sidelong glance.)

And poor Puffy!Elvis under the wood pile. It’s nice to see him be a bit more his usual disgruntled self once he accepts Tommy’s help. Let’s hope they find inside shelter before Tommy suggests they curl up together for warmth, and Elvis NOPES right back under the wood pile. And kudos to Lupin and Puck for keeping the studio lights on. The audience does indeed want up to the minute reporting on this disaster. 🙂
