Sweetheart is the kitten who is with Princess, I am pretty sure Rouge, Rascal and Rowdy are the other kittens of Princess Taggart and Captain Nimble. Captain Nimble might make Rouge, Rascal and Rowdy’s last name be “Taggart” in honor of Princess. Or the took Princesses last name instead of Captain Nimble’s because that is fairly common in real life that the husband takes his wife’s last name instead of her taking his.
I think rascal, rogue and rowdy are littermates of sweetheart, but then did not take the Nimble name, stayed Taggart. Love the crab, who, of course, needs a name.
Georgia, this is a splendid little gift to us. It is what we have been calling around here “vintage Dunn”- warm, sweet, whimsical, a little bit gently snide, and full of details you have to revisit again and again. You have a gift for those things, and you have formed a little community out here, all around it. Some might call it just a fan base, but to me, it feels a little different-like a reliably warm place to land when everything is going a little nuts. Thank you for that, and for keeping this strip going, at what must be some degree of personal sacrifice at times. It makes total sense that family names are passed along maternal lines in cats. After all, kitten maternity is easily established, while paternity is often… murky. (I don’t judge.)

I know there isn’t a special going, but I have a comic idea from my own cat.her fur is static central.after one or two strokes i have enough static electricity to lightly zap her ear if I touch it.i like to tease her like that sometimes.what about Woman discovering this and teasing Elvis (yes the shocks are light,much lighter than the average)
I foresee a kitten/parent reunion that will be full scampy and aaaaaw and even Georgia will have trouble getting it on paper and doing it justice.
We had a cat who developed an immunity to water attacks. She just spent so MUCH time on the counter that she got used to the squirt bottle and stopped caring. She won, we let her on the counter. Another cat just had so much fur that my brother and I had a game where we’d slowly drip water on her to see just when she’d notice what we were doing. Like water off of Dozer’s back!
It took me a while to find Lord Crabbington. He certainly looks happy to have been spritzed! This is great, Georgia!

The kitty I grew up with used to snuggle under my blankets at night in cold staicy Pennsylvania. I would get such sparks from her fur as I’d pet her!
