Oooo! The plot thickens. So great, I love it all. The colors are so vivid, too. Thank you Georgia.

Considering that he was helping grandpa Taggart fake his illness and the way he was hitting on Angora, I’m not surprised.

    *cue suspenseful soap opera music.*

As of now, after 39 years of loyalty to my folks,
I set off on my own, with roommates to seek my destiny.
The house deal fell through… But as I look to the sky from the hotel,
I see the Star of second chances. It has guided wanderers in search of hope
For centuries.. …. (what?? Had to repeat that quote hehe)

Wait, how does a Doctor have the right to lock someone up in Jail..? But oh my cat this is good. I love the female cats, especially the kitten. Dr. Mittens is a lousy Doctor. And Elvis, despite his complaints, watches the show anyway, is he coming around, perhaps? Looking foward to the continuation. Great job! 🙂

Oh my cat! Jail? Mental patient? I’m wondering if Bandit and Dr. Mittens are related. Only difference is the pattern of “the star of second chances” on Dr. Mittens forehead. I can’t wait to find out

Oh boy, the plot thickens indeed!! Can’t wait to see what happens next! And wow, the colors are really rich now, beautiful. I know you’d posted something about a change with the colors but wow, now Puck, Bandit and Dr. Mittens are a true black. Great job as always, Georgia, thanks for creating and sharing!

OMC, LOOOOOOOOOOOVE it!!! especially your star of 2nd chances!! Love how the bad guy Dr Mittens thinks she was mental, but the good guy Bandit thinks she was a cool girl. Elvis is getting sucked into it, against his will of course. Will Lupin make an appearance (I hope!) Even though he has very expressive eyes, I do miss Pucky’s mouth and eyebrows.

His eyebrows are there. They’re just a suggestion above his head. But yes, I loved that version of Puck. Of course, I love Pucky in any form. And Georgia has promised us blushes.

I wonder if Aunt Paisley is the “mental patient/cool girl locked in the jail cell” by Dr. Mittens . . . she didn’t say she was quoting anyone when she said, “. . in search of hope for centuries.” Oh my!

Poor Elvis. He just want to go to work…But I love how invested the others are in the story. Will the other news cats and mice watch too? And is there a happy ending on tap? Awesome work as usual.

Didn’t the mice make off with the People’s smartphone last Christmas? For them, it’s a Large Screen TV. So I’m sure they’re watching it there. Beatrix and Trevor are watching in the bookstore. Isn’t Beatrix totally smitten with Kit Chase? And is Baba Mouse watching along with the other two mice?

I think the “one dress” will somehow figure in the plot. Sweetheart reminds me of another kitten…a certain polydactyl.

Georgia! THANK YOU! Love the soap opera! It has brought a smile to a very sad time. Lost my 16 year old Nala; had a fire, home less now – have a place to stay with friends (so blessed actually!); dog in kennel, second fur baby is with a friend, so need the joy . . . . . Love the new color of Puck! . . . .

Oh my word! The same message: hopeful in the first two, sinister in the third! The plot thickens! ::: corny electronic organ soap opera music plays suspensefully ::: (What’s the significance of the sisters wearing the same dress in different colors and the kitten pointing it out?)

In most states, a person can be taken into custody, restrained, locked up, and committed to a mental hospital (without their own consent) if two physicians certify that the person is insane ( i.e. is a clear and present danger to self and/or others). Dr. Mittens would need a colleague’s help (or do a bit of forgery) to lock up Paisley.

I too love Elvis’ expression in the first panel, even though it is obviously a complete work of fiction. (I am sure the real-life Elvis never has an expression even close to that).
Also, like most men, I do not care for soap operas and do not have time for them, even in comics. So I am, of course, not reading this story line. Nope, definitely not. Although I should point out that Paisley and the cool girl in jail/mental patient are almost certainly the same person, anyone could guess that. And Sweetheart does seem to share many characteristics with another kitten we are all familiar with. (Attitude, if nothing else).

Finally, I must admit, I had my doubts about the inky black color, especially for Puck. Eyebrows are a key part of expressing emotion and black eyebrows on a black face would be invisible. But once again, we see that Georgia has made the right choice. Eyebrows and closed mouths can be highlighted in white and be wonderfully effective. (See the other black cats in today’s strip).

Actually, I never doubted you at all, Georgia. If you couldn’t find a way to make it work, you wouldn’t have done it. Believe it or not folks, she loves this strip at least as much as we do and she won’t do anything to mess it up. Have faith. Great news on the syndication. I had no doubts about that either.

Is the diamond pattern on Dr. Mittens a nod to the Suk doctors in Dune?
