I am in tears. I have been a Grinch all season, but I think my heart just grew 3 sizes. I needed this today. Thank you Georgia!

I had looked back at last year’s Christmas series to see if there was something from Tommy’s home away from home he could give Sophie to finish her tree, but I never thought about the fact that he would bring his whole tree. Being a found item artist it was something Sophie could appreciate and it showed her a different side of Tommy that she hadn’t seen before.

With their claws, can mice operate a touch screen?

    • Heather
      December 24, 2015, 9:47 pm | # | Reply

I like to think they use their tails.

    • d'Glenn
      December 25, 2015, 7:33 am | # | Reply

Well, touch screens work fine with noses (try it) so I’m sure the mice will manage. 🙂

There are edge cases. I have trouble with touchpads. My hands are very dry. I set off touchpads unexpectedly. More than once, I have had my laptop’s touchpad register a click when I am not touching the touchpad.

        • Ross
          December 26, 2015, 2:40 pm | # | Reply

Hmmm … I have the same problem. Maybe, lacking tails, we should try our noses … mine is certainly damp enough

I had to get fingerprinted once as part of a criminal record check, because of dealing with children. They only got two good prints out of ten fingers. For the other eight, the operator had to manually selected the best out of three prints.

I wonder how easy cats would have it to operate touch screens.

          • awgiedawgie
            December 28, 2015, 1:31 pm | #

Well, unlike the mice, cats have retractable claws, so they would probably fare pretty well on a touch screen.

I had an awful time when I got fingerprinted too, but I rarely have any major issues with my touch screen. Once in a while my iPad will register a tap when I’m not touching it, but it’s rare.

    • awgiedawgie
      December 26, 2015, 11:25 pm | # | Reply

They can always use a stylus.

      • Gene Wirchenko
        December 28, 2015, 2:43 pm | # | Reply

A claw is a stylus. Even comes with spares. And it is not as if they are likely to lose them.

        • awgiedawgie
          December 28, 2015, 8:13 pm | # | Reply

Touché. But I haven’t had a single smart phone yet that responds favourably to the rigid type of stylus – only the soft mushy ones that feel not entirely unlike a cat’s fingertips. However, I did have an old phone a few years ago (not a smart phone, but it did have a touch screen) that I could use a rigid stylus on. I used the stylus out of a Gameboy.

So I guess depending on what particular type of touch screen it is, the mice could either use a soft stylus, or they could use their built-in claw stylus. The cats would have it easier, since having retractable claws means they basically have both types of stylus built in. 🙂

Oh my cat! Last year you made me cry, this year I can’t stop laughing. Baba Mouse’s outfit, hanging with Burt, the wise old sages. Elvis and the bandages on his face, Puck & Buzzy Mouse, Alice’s new sweater, the vacumn feeling love. but I think best of all was Sophie telling Tommy that she was glad he was home!! It looks like in the last panel Lupin has managed to get his arms tied up behind him?? Pucky got all of the last 3 tips in 1 broadcast. Thank you so much Georgia. Barn cat fist bump for the win!!

All of it is so sweet… Sophie appreciating Tommy’s makeshift Christmas tree from last year and telling him that she’s glad he’s home this year. D’aawwww…

All of the presents are so perfect! Violet giving Lupin a cat’s cradle was, possibly, my favorite. Although Natasha’s gigantic smile at her collection of swords really puts it up there. Elvis getting band-aids (and then wearing them later…) Alice’s Christmas sweater…

And, I’ll be honest, I’d take a box of Cheez-Its for Christmas. (They’re a weakness of mine… I really relate to the Robber Mice on this score.)

Guess the woman’s going to have to make do with the old phone now! The Robber Girls have got a bigger screen to watch the antics of Kit Chase, Angora and Snowball. I don’t see them giving that up… especially since The BCN crew gave it to them.

I guess the only thing I’m sort of sad about was that we didn’t get an update on Tabitha and Figaro. Ah well… Feliz Navidad to them, too.

Wonderful story, Georgia! As always, I cannot wait to see what you come up with next. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

All of it is just melting away my heart with its beauty and trueness and just the way everyone is getting along and getting all the gifts they most want. 🙂 My favourite bit, however, is where Tommy receives his favourite hazard cone Christmas tree from last year’s Christmas story–it’s a nice link between last year’s story and now’s. 🙂 I love how Sophie really appreciates it and Tommy, and how it’s finally dawning on her how special Tommy is and that he has the soul of artist as well. 😉 There’s something there that wasn’t there before methinks. 😉

As a Professional Santa, I get many requests for a kitten or puppy for Christmas. I tell the children that Santa will talk it over with their folks, and if They think it’s a good idea, maybe (you) can adopt a pet from a local shelter so the animal will have a good forever home.Sometimes I need to remind the children that the kitten or pup will eventually grow into a fully grown pet,and will need to be taken care of just like any other family member,so you must decide wisely with the help of (your) folks. I recently did a Photos With Santa for one of our local shelters. In addition to a horse being brought in for a picture, most of the pets brought in were adopted from the shelter sponsoring the event! Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and love and light to you all in the coming year!

Awww~! One adorable moment after another. ^__^

I see Lupin managed to get himself tangled in the cat’s cradle by the last panel. XD

I also see Puck still gave the vacuum a hug. =3

And I see that the People and I share a liking of Cheez-Its. P:

I also just noticed that, while Puck and Buzzy share matching sweaters at first, it changes to Puck and Alice matching, after Alice gets her sweater.

(Actually, come to look, I think the CN team is wearing PJs at first and switches to sweaters at the end. Still. Cute. =3)

Well, Georgia, I’m one of those “holiday-that-you-celebrate if you don’t” people but it’s a great time for family and friends as all have time off together so we can plan get-togethers for games, fun and food. And I was SOOOO looking forward to see what you would write as the culmination of this WONDERFULLY sweet story. What you came up with is far beyond what I expected! Love you for these stories!!!

No one seems to have noticed (so far in comments) that Pucky’s sweater changes from the first to later match the sweater he gave Alice (awww) — unless those were jammies as Elvis’ sweater changes too. Lupin’s got his paws tied so he can’t do much changing. 😁

What do I especially love in this one?
    – how similar Lupin’s happy face is with Natasha when opening their gifts (and what a gift for her!)
    – the dropped jaw on Violet when she saw the new TV
    – Elvis festooning himself with bandages even though he was initially grumpy about his gift
    – the way Sophie deliberately pauses (…) before saying MAGNIFICENT! to truly give Tommy the gift of her approval at last
    – Lupin progressively becoming more and more tangled in his gift …and thoroughly happy about it
    – the tiny clove-studded oranges hanging as decorations in the first panel
    – Baba Mouse’s fancy little teacup (appropriate for her) and her special clothes

Everything was perfect but how I love these tiny gems you scatter in your stories!!! I’ve never gotten weepy over any of your stories (unlike most women, I very VERY rarely cry) but they all make me smile and make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. A thousand thank you’s, Georgia! I really can’t thank you enough!!!

If it ends up being Agnes, I called it first!

I think it would be a good idea to have a feminine or mousiline touch.

SO SWEET! The boys in their pajamas and especially the girls in their tiny little nightgowns were darling. Violet’s reaction to the “big screen TV” was priceless. I love that the boys acknowledged the cheese crackers were as close as they could get with regard to the wish for a wheel of cheese; I’m sure the girls appreciated it that much more. Tommy has such a sweet personality and wonderful outlook on life. They all had such a wonderful Christmas, all thanks to Burt and Baba Mouse stepping in when they saw bad behavior on both sides. I thought it was funny that the cats admitted they knew they were doing wrong by holding Agnes hostage and that it would put them on the naughty list.

Where was Baba Mouse is Part 3? Is it that what looks like the glow from the green Christmas light is really Baba Mouse’s eyes? The lines that kind of look like her eyes are near the little tree like the one she hands Alice in Part 6. I’m not sure if this is something for us to figure out or if it’s something that will be revealed in a later strip.

Now that it is over, I will reveal that one eye may be seen peeking in on poor, sad Alice in the upper right corner of the last panel.

Dear Lady … another magic year has passed and you continue to grow and excel! Even tho I do not know you, I am very proud of you for all you have accomplished. You and “The Man” really seem to have your priorities in order … a sick baby, the comic is late … I think all of your fans will agree that is the way it should be. Looking at some of the posts I recognize names that I have badgered into checking out BCN I am so glad they did. Guess I can only hope you continue to prosper. I think great things await you … and you will have worked hard and deserve them. Many blessings to you, your family and the three cat boys!
