Oh so cute! Hey, did Tommy always have a bowtie, or did that come with the job? : )

Came with the job!! I saved bow ties just for him. 🙂

Can we look forward to reviews of places around the neighborhood from Tommy? Favorite garbage cans, meeting the new raccoons around town, cat friendly lurking areas?

Yes, indeed! I may find a way to bring a live feed into his home turf too… 🙂

Where is Tommy’s new leash on life? We don’t want him to get lost again chasing that bird!

Never fear! Tommy in the comic has a better grasp of the neighborhood after his leash walks (though his leash and Woman will still make appearances!) And in real life, all of the BCN cats happen to be indoor kitties, even Tommy. He represents the “cats about town” in the comic, but in real life he is always indoors and usually snoozing in laundry or on a freshly made bed.

Wheeeeeee! things are sproinging! and what better bcn reporter to report on “these things” and “that stuff”. Good luck, Tommy, on getting your interview with “this guy”….hohoooo

You can see your back yard? We still have feet of snow here in southern MA. And all of these are wonderful pictures of Tommy.

Thank you! And *sort of*… We can see bits of it. The worms and buds coming up through the earth are real though! I just hope they make it tomorrow. I think I made this particular strip to help all of us here in the Northeast survive the weekend, ha!! IS IT SPRING YET???

Lovely! I wish Spring was sproinging around here, but alas we’ve still got many many feet of snow on the ground and no chance of seeing wormies or buds for another six weeks or so (except we’re going to British Columbia tomorrow, wheeee!) I’ve missed Tommy, glad he’s still happy and rotund!

It started warming up here in Ohio about a week ago. The mud’s gone, the air’s getting warmer (except in the morning, but baby steps) and birds are coming back. The best part is that our house it right outside of some woods – every spring we get to see a brand new batch of baby critters! Have you ever seen a doe grazing with her fawns? So adorable!

I’m happy to see Tommy back as outdoor reporter. He is cute and clueless when it comes to interviewing the bird!

Growing up in New Hampshire years ago this time of year was maple sugar season. We kids spent hours keeping an outdoor fire going under the pans of maple sap collected in wooden buckets boiling it down. My mother processed quarts of the finished product. Ours was a far cry from the sugaring system used in New England today, but it was more fun! Tommy would have been a great one to report on it. He would have loved the kids, the fire and the promise of spring!

That sounds like such a nice time, Taffy! It reminds me of when they make maple syrup in ‘Little House in the Big Woods.’ (I love those books). I bet Tommy would be all about investigating that!

What a lovely tribute to spring! I love the drawing of wind blown Tommy! I saw the first robin of the spring in my back yard a couple of days ago. My daffodils are forming buds. Now, if someone would just tell the thermometer it’s time to rise!

“This guy” reminds me of Gunnerkrigg Court. When a character appears for the first time in a while, Tom often comments simply “This guy.” And I do mean quite often. Curiously often.

Spring sure isn’t here in NY. Looks like I’ll have to move into the house next to yours for that to happen. Tommy looks pretty dashing with his bow tie. We have a local TV news reporter here who always has on bow ties.

However, over the past 2 weeks, two of the major ice cream meccas have openend up. So spring can’t be that far off. I don’t think they’re cranking much business with this unsettled weather.

“The wind is powerful and angry”–being a native of southern California, where we get strong, hot Santa Ana winds, this is my favorite panel in today’s strip. Perfect depiction of what they’re like.

I was outside today in the sun, with everything blooming and budding and busting up through the ground, and I felt just like Tommy did! Shared the strip (again) when I came inside. (And I love the expression on the bird’s face as he flies away!)
