“To represent the jar of Christmas lights in each of us.” LOL!

I wonder if they’ve connected the yearly gourd-sacrificing ritual to the yearly pilgrimmage of small acolytes ringing the Dreaded Doorbell…

I like this return to investigative journalism.

Puck’s deep side is so lovable.

Lupin, you’re sticky with your sweet side.

Weird question, but are you going to do any investigative journalism with a lone reporter? I’d love for each of the boys to get their own starring strip, so we can continue to see Lupin’s adventurousness, the Christmas lights inside Puck, and Elivs’ curmudgeonliness.

Also, this is my absolute favorite thing on the internet currently. I eagerly await each comic, and I am absolutely gleeful when I see a new one has been posted. This cheers up even my crummiest of days.

      Thank you, Cresta!

It’s interesting that you ask! I actually really want to do that at some point with each of the boys. I’ve wanted to somehow give Puck a “Food Critic” segment, and Elvis something to do with conspiracies, and Lupin athletics perhaps. There are some exciting things in the works with ‘Breaking Cat News’ that I can’t quite go into yet, but if they do fall into place I’ll be able to give each reporter their own occasional strips much more easily!

Puck is indeed a deep, deep cat. Lupin is just a sticky cat, while Elvis has the inquiring mind of a real newscat. Great story!

Love this, my christmas lights are overflowing. I was beginning to experience withdrawal symptoms but this comic is so worth the wait.
The best thing out there, as happy as babykins

Georgia, Is that green bucket one of the trick or treat buckets that McDonalds had in the 1990’s? I think the green one was a witch. I would have never associated Jack o’ Lanterns with Egyptian canopic jars but after reading this it somehow makes sense.

It is, Aaron!! I may have gotten the lip of the bucket a little off, because I painted it entirely from memory, but that is exactly what it is meant to be! Great catch! (I think I still have mine at my Mom’s house somewhere).

I’m sitting at the hospital, waiting to have a bone scan to see if the breast cancer has spread to my bones. I decided to check to see if a new strip was out. When I read this, I started giggling like a maniac, so badly that a few of the nurses actually looked at me worriedly. THANK YOU. I so needed that laugh and have no doubt I’ll be snickering for hours to come. “Annual gourd sacrifice” indeed… 😉

Just wanted to say that BCN is my absolute FAVORITE web comic. It always makes me laugh, especially since I’m a cat owner of a orange tabby with a huge personality. Thank you for all the smiles you give me 🙂

This might be my favorite strip so far. Our pumpkins aren’t carved, but I still l catch my two nosing up to them.

My cats certainly had their share of Christmas lights in THEM. … Can’t WAIT to see what the new Maines do when we decorate this year… O.O

Daw! Poor Lupin, sampling that yucky slime. Hey, do you gets keep the seeds? With a good wash and little salt, roasted pumpkin seeds are the delicious.

I love how the sacrificial victim is looking at Puck as he talks about Christmas lights. And how Puck is peering into the picture in the second frame–reminds me of my own black kitty.

I’ll give the boys this much – their fact-checking is just as rigorous as CNN’s.

After I read about the ‘Puck: Food Critic’ thing, I realized: Puck already knows what the pumpkin’s like and tries to warn Lupin. XD

Hahaha!! Yes!! Puck is our little food lover, he’ll try just about anything. We have to be very careful with him around unsafe kitty foods!
