This comic is precious… From both the stance of the cats but the baby as well (“baby alarm” — ha!). Poor kitties with their paws in their ears…

Hahaha! I think I might have to side with Elvis on this one. Babies DO look like potatoes.

One more vote for the potato caucus here.

I always thought that they all looked like either a frog or Winston Churchill, though I’m not entirely certain that there is any significant difference.

Such a great comic! We love it. How you show Puck’s empathy with that little enquiring paw in panel 7 and the “putting it all together” in 9 and 10. Lupin is the essence of objectivity isn’t he, and Elvis, well, Elvis is there for truthful puffy moments!

I now know why I’m so drawn to Elvis … I am Elvis. Potatoes for certain!

Can’t agree with this, babies are sweet and made of cheeks

Lupin is deaf. Why’s he covering his ears?
    I love puffy Elvis.

Good point! He may have a bit of theater in him for the broadcast… (Hmmm, but in seriousness, I may go back and correct this!)

I always thought the comic was ignoring that real-life Lupin is deaf because I’m sure he responds to what the other cats say in past comics. So, is comic-Lupin deaf?

Yes–Or rather, I meant him to be, which is why I may go back in and fix this soon! This was truly a whoops moment. At some point I want to do a “special report” with the boys showing behind the scenes how they put the broadcasts together, and during that report I mean to show Lupin using cue cards, lip reading, and possibly some off camera sign language with him and the others.

No need to change, he’s just acting for the camera.

I kind of love this interpretation… He does seem to have a flair for the dramatic in real life….

I love that idea! All the best works of fiction have that sort of rich backstory. Your genius continues!

I did end up going back in to correct this, by changing Lupin’s stance and having Elvis cover his ear in his first panel instead. I want to try and keep it consistent in the comic that Lupin is deaf, should it come into the comic later (which I do want it to). Thank you for pointing this out, Lauren!!

I think Elvis is taking things very well, considering that the Woman was 100% his to start with. Now he has to share her with 4 other beings (plus Tommy ;). Grump on, Elvis!

This does seem to be his reasoning in real life, 100%.

I just started reading this comic and I love it! Puck reminds me so much of one of my own cats, but I think Elvis is my favorite so far. Keep it up!

Elvis and my calico are definitely kindred spirits, who would undoubtedly hate each other on sight if they ever met. I definitely get the most laughs out of Elvis, just because I could see my cat having exactly the same reactions. Lupin is very cute, and as for Puck, my cat growing up was black, and I have a big soft spot for black kitties.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Puck angry, I mean, never more than being agitated when someone’s foot was in his face while sharing a cozy spot. And Lupin’s “oh no you didn’t” response to it is hilarious.

Hah. We’ve got a colorful kitty cast at our place, too.

Byte: Our oldest boy. He like to act big and tough, but he’s really just a little scardy cat. Like, when we got new flooring, he refused to walk on it and would yowl in destress until someone carried him where he wanted to go. Also, he dosn’t seem to get along with Puck and is one of those cats that like being petted and scratched, but usually won’t talorate being handled.

Eclips: Easily the most phyically expressive of the cats. If he needs something, he’ll be happy to interupt what your doing to rub, purr and bat at you until you give hime attention. He’ll also sleep on top of you, not just wish you in the bed, but on top of you. He’s also easily our biggest and heaviest cat, so make of that what you will.

Puck: I know, right? She’s also a black puddy with a missin part. Her kitty mommy
abandoned her because she was a runt. We took her in, bottle-fed her, and treated a badly infected eye. The eye itself was saved, but she’s half blind. Amusingly, no ond bothered to see if Puck was a boy or a girl for the lonest time. We finally got our answere
when she started popping out kittens!

Haha! They sound great! I especially like Byte’s reaction to the new floor, that’s hilarious! And I’m happy to hear there are two black Pucks in the world!
