The key to non-broken lamps is Earthquake Gum! Or Museum Gel (clear, for vases).My cat Sandy communicates by knocking lamps off of things. Museum gel and earthquake gum have changed my life!
But they do cut into Sandy’s ability to express himself.
LMAO!! Oh, I laughed so hard at this, I literally snorted soda out of my nose. The little track outfits! The race route for viewers at home! The water station!! I adore every single frame, especially as someone who has directly experienced “the 2 am Running of the Cats”. Brilliant!
(BTW I too never receive notifications of new posts, despite having signed up, and it tells me that I’ve already signed up when I try to do so again. I’ve even checked my spam filter – no luck.)
Omigosh, never knew how riotous a cat gallop could be, clearly with two cats in the running…it’s a stampede! Oh this is the best everrrr. this comic is a “10”.
I think my favorite part is Tommy with his perfect score card in the last panel–that’s just priceless. Fortunately our two feline roommates don’t tend to have their marathons at 2am, but maybe they’re just being stealthy about it. Love this comic!
I feel so much better knowing that the 2am Running of the Cats is a thing. Also, love that Tommy has wormed his way towards acceptance with everyone BUT NEVER ELVIS! Puffy Elvis is always a win!!!

I pulled this strip up on my phone because it’s 3:30 in the morning and my cats are doing laps through my apartment. Now I’m lying in bed laughing myself wheezy. Thank you so much — BCN is one of my very favorite webcomics.
