Greetings everyone! Happy 4th of July! I hope you all have a happy, fun, safe Independence Day and that the fireworks don’t make any of your feline friends nervous. Elvis is not a fan, as you can see. We’ll be giving him a lot of special attention and chin rubs throughout the day!
It recently came to my attention that the email notifications for new posts were not going out to subscribers, I’m sorry about that! To be honest, I’m not entirely certain why that was happening (or rather, was not happening) but I have taken a hammer to my computer and believe it may be fixed. Please let me know if you have subscribed to the emails and did not receive a notification for this latest strip! Much thanks goes out to Ladd Morse for bringing this to my attention!

How does Lupin react to the fireworks, being deaf? Is he able to sense them without hearing them? Sorry if this is a strange question! I’m a curious person (like Lupin himself!).
Not at all, I’m happy to answer questions about any of the boys! Lupin does seem to sense some of the bigger “booms,” and he enjoys watching them light up outside the window. Occasionally he “chitters” a quiet little meow at the sky, as if he wants to catch them!
Not a holiday here, and my furry housemate is at the vee-ee-tee (she has to be sedated for blood tests because she Hates Vee-ee-tee Staff and has drawn blood from everyone at the practice, even the ‘cat wrangling expert’, just getting a vacination…). But there may well be ‘potato salad’ later (ice-cream in our case)… so not all bad!
“Wait … There’s potato salad?” So glad your cats have some non-traditional food favorites. One of my cats adored cherries, hated tuna. Happy 4th and thanks for your wonderful cartoons — every frame is a charming, hilarious, work of art.

thanks for july fourth wishes, returned from us and our furries to you and the gang. fyi we signed up for emails haven’t gotten notices, however we check often so no worries. sorry the kabloooies are so intrusive to kitty ears, but I’ll bet tommy was down at the display waiving a flag and munching burgers, no?

Love this. Had so much (not) fun taking the cats down to my parent’s lake house for the weekend. They hated, hated, hated the fireworks. Had to pry the tiny girl cat out of the closet to get her home. This cartoon is perfect!
Breaking KITTEN News! It might just be too cute and too funny to watch cub reporters. Everything is new to kittens and thus very news-worthy. I can hardly wait!!
Humans are still grumbling over some nighttime BANGS that are going on even though that Fourth of July nonsense is LONG over. I’m used to it by now and not even looking up and going WHAT WAS THAT?? anymore…
