We used to have a solid black cat who used to enjoy lounging in the front window. Very little decorating needed for that spot. just a drop of catnip juice & he’d stay there for hours.

We have an inordinately large black cat, but none of the black-cat Halloween decorations look quite as moronic as he does. Our cat sits around with a blank look, as if telepathically taking orders from giant space hamsters orbiting Saturn, and in comparison even the dopiest cat decoration looks like it could fly a 747 from New York to Rome and back.
I love this comic SO MUCH. It is one of my very favorite sites on the entire internet. Any time I want to smile, I come here. It’s adorable, it’s hilarious, it rings so true to anyone who has their own quirky cats, and there are so many loving details to be found in every panel that I keep re-reading older ones to pick up on things I missed the first time. I also love that the humor is sweet (without ever being cloying) and never mean-spirited. I know you started this on a whim but I hope I get to see a lot more of Breaking Cat News. It’s such a wonderful site.
Yes, very sadly he lost one of his hind legs when he was a kitten (it was believed by the vets that a predator got to it). We adopted him a few weeks after his surgery. He’s never let it stop him though; he races all over the apartment and is an excellent climber.
There is just so much to like in this comic. I had never noticed Puck was three legged before. I just always assumed that his legs were up under him and that was his tail…this make much more sense.
A feature about the sweet Puck! I love it! Black cats are least likely to be adopted and he got a great family who loves him so very much obviously! I have a little black rescue cat too.
