Aww Puck’s cute little face in panel 3! Reminds me of my little Cosmo (“Who??”)

I feel so dopey, I actually didn’t understand Puck saying “Who?” to The Man. Was he playing innocent so as not to give away what Elvis and Lupin were up to, or was it a reflection of kitties and people not actually speaking the same language? Or is it actually super genius cause it works as both? 😉

I meant it to be the first way, but I always have to be careful to never *quite* let the People and the boys actually, fully talk to one another. I imagine the Man is having a rhetorical moment, and Puck is trying to look as innocent as possible. (Lupin and Elvis get into about 60% more trouble than Puck in real life. This is a look we get a lot from him when we’re trying to determine who has knocked over a vase, torn up the paper towels, or thrown up on the carpet). Folks have asked me before if the People understand the boys, and the answer is no, the People are pretty oblivious to everything going on in their home, ha! The boys understand the People a little more, but definitely misinterpret a lot too.

For what it’s worth, I always interpret the cats’ “Ma’am? Ma’am?” and “Man? Man?” as intentionally sounding like the “Meow, meow” that the People hear on their end of things.

Thank you, Thom! That’s how I’ve meant it to sort of “translate!”

Yes, Puck is playing innocent! I love how he tips them off so they can continue going to laundry room. I love exchange between Elvis and lovely upstairs kitty. Could mutual hate turn to love?!

I also stopped at the “Who?” panel and laughed out loud. I get that look from one of my cats who is always innocent of everything. Sometimes the looks says “What?” or “When?” or “Where?” or even “How?”

It’s even better when my cat does it, because she’s an only cat. “Who, me? I’m completely innocent. That big crash that happened the instant you stepped out of the room must have been caused by the wind.”

I like how the Man called Puck “Pucky” when questioning him. I also love the cats conspiring together to keep their knowledge of the access to the laundry room a secret from the People!

Such innocence on Puck’s face! This comic certainly brightens my day. I look forward to the next episode and hope it’s as easy for the intrepid felines to climb back up the chute as it was going down!

Puck plotting ahead. Lupin and Fig bonding. But MOST OF ALL… no matter which tack Elvis tries to take, Tabitha just pwning him harder with every volley.

The developing relationship between Lupin and Sir Figaro reminds me of Rick (Bogart) and Louis (Claude Raines) in Casablanca –maybe it’s the fedora that does it. 😉 Just imagine Lupin saying to Fig in his best Bogart accent: “Figaro, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

Shout out to Georgia for the forced perspective of that last panel that gets the whole news team in one shot when they’re on three different levels! That takes talent. Plus, she didn’t forget the ground that always quakes. GEORGIA FTW!

It will be some trick climbing back up the laundry chute! I wonder if they’ll have to hide themselves in the laundry to get smuggled back home? After all, hiding in the laundry bin always works in 80s movies!

“This is your people’s laundry SO GO CRAZY!” Taken out of context, this comic is just bizarre. In context, it makes absolute sense.
